Pregame Notes - 7/31 (Should I stay or should I go?)

It's 10:40 here at ol' Waterfront Park, and everything is quiet. Some pitchers are stretching in the outfield. A few groundskeepers are shuffling hither, thither and you. Other than that, there's no action to speak of.

In a few hours, though, all that could change.

The trade deadline is 5 hours and 18 minutes away, and there are still plenty of balls in play. Heath Bell, Randy Choate, Josh Willingham, or even the vaunted #mysteryprize could be on its way to New York, which means there's a good chance some members of the Thunder could be filling out change-of-address forms in short order.

The big prizes, Manny Banuelos, Dellin Betances and Jesus Montero, are safe, I think. Smaller names, however, like Adam Warren, Corban Joseph, J.R. Murphy and others, are still in play, especially for a guy like Bell.

The only things that are certain today are that Steve Garrison is going to pitch, Craig Heyer is going to back him up and a roster has to be made to get Garrison aboard.

Here's the Thunder lineup as we do the waiting dance:

Kruml - LF
Joseph - 2B
Almonte - RF
Lyerly - 1B
Mesa - CF
Pirela - SS
Gil - C
Mack - DH
Maruszak - 3B
Garrison - LHP

No Romine in the lineup. Something possibly up, or normal day off?
