Dustin Moseley coughed up six runs in five innings, and the Yankees couldn't top the Lars Anderson-powered PawSox. Rene Rivera led the way for Scranton, racking up a three-hit night that included a two-run longball. His first HR of the season was off the immortal Stephen Strasburg. Reid Gorecki and Eduardo Nunez collected two hits apiece. Former Thunder reliever Eric Wordekemper tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Dan Brewer, Austin Krum and Austin Romine connected on back-to-back-to-back home runs in this teeter-tottering affair. D.J. Mitchell, in his first game back since having a start skipped to protect his innings count, was thwacked to the tune of seven runs (six earned) over 4 1/3 innings. He allowed three longballs. Brewer, Romine and Luis Nunez each had two hits and scored twice. Krum and Jose Gil, who also went deep, also scored twice. Kevin Whelan pitched a perfect seventh and eighth inning for the win.

Graham Stoneburner's scoreless innings streak ended at 29 (!), but his streak of not allowing an earned run continues. The last time he permitted one of those was the second inning on May 24 against Lakeland, nearly a month. Still, the pair of unearned tallies he gave up in the sixth inning of this game cost him and his team a win. The T-Yanks collected just three hits: two from Corban Joseph and one from Walter Ibarra.

Jose Mojica was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and the Yankees held off the IronBirds. Casey Stevenson, Kevin Mahoney and Kelvin De Leon each had RBIs as well. Shane Brown scored twice. Shane Greene, the Yankees' opening night starter, allowed five earned runs on 11 hits over four innings. He struck out four and walked nobody.

Bryan Mitchell, making the first appearance of his career, got shelled for five runs on two hits and four walks over two innings. Anderson Felix was 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and Gary Sanchez and Reymond Nunez picked up the Yankees' other two hits. Nunez also drove in the other run.
