NOTES: Yankees farm director Pat Roessler is here. ... Kevin Mahoney, Addison Maruszak and Corban Joseph were out early doing work on the infield. ... Among this team's problems this year has been ability to cash in its runners in scoring position. To wit, Trenton is .221/.326/.308 with RISP, with just 56 hits in 253 at-bats. With the bases full, Trenton has had just three hits all year, all singles.

Marshall is coming off a start during which he allowed five runs (three earned) on 11 hits, one short of his career worst. ... He's thrown 332 of his 544 pitches for strikes this year, good for 61 percent. He's also been the beneficiary of 6.2 runs per game of support, far and away the best on the team.
