No Pettitte this time

After a near re-entry in Portland, it turns out Andy Pettitte will not pitch with Trenton again on his tune-up tour. ESPN's Andrew Marchand reported this afternoon that the left-hander will make his final minor league start on Sunday for Scranton, which will be playing against Pawtucket in Rochester, N.Y.

There was a clue to this effect yesterday, when the Thunder's game notes listed Graham Stoneburner and Cory Arbiso as the starters for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Playing for Scranton, against Pawtucket, in Rochester still sounds weird.

so far, andy hasn't shown enough for this to be his final minors start. but the ny starters have been dire, and the aaa guys are still risky. best wishes for phelps.
