Postgame recap: Game 84
Final score: New Britain 3, Trenton 2
Synopsis: Addison Maruszak hit his ninth home run of the year, but it was Zoilo Almonte's home run-that-wasn't that turned the game. Umpires reversed their original call on Almonte's line drive toward the right-field foul pole, and instead of longball Almonte finished the at-bat with an inning-ending strikeout. That decision was obviously crucial in what turned out to be a one-run affair.
Bright Spots: Mikey O'Brien rebounded nicely from his last outing, a disaster outing in New Britain. This time he held the Rock Cats to one run (a longball from Deibinson Romero) over six innings.
Maruszak finished 3 for 4 and was a triple short of the cycle. He's up to .294 on the year. Since June 1, he's hitting .367/.423/.642 with seven doubles, a triple and seven longballs.
New Kids in Town: Rob Segedin and J.R. Murphy made their Double-A debuts on Wednesday. The pair was 0 for 7 with a walk (Murphy).
