Around the System, Day 5

Triple-A: Buffalo 4, Scranton 1
Jason Hirsh was rocked early, but settled down later. Unfortunately, the damage was done. Hirsh gave up three runs in 4 2/3 frames that included three walks. David Winfree had a pair of doubles, and Eduardo Nunez also had a two-bagger in the loss. Box score.

Double-A: Trenton 5, Erie 1
Behind a pair of Davids, the Thunder played like Goliath. David Phelps hurled 5 2/3 of one-run ball with seven strikeouts, and David Adams had a key two-run double late. Wilkins Arias, Noel Castillo and Grant Duff were stellar in relief. Box score.

High-A: Tampa 3, Lakeland 0
Manny Banuelos was scratched from his scheduled start, but it didn't matter much for the T-Yanks. Dan Kapala, Craig Heyer, Philip Bartleski and Jonathan Ortiz held the Flying Tigers to three hits in Tampa's second shutout of the season. Brad Suttle and Neil Medchill each had two hits in the win, and Walter Ibarra and Jose Pirela each stole a base. Box score.

Low-A: Charleston 7, Lexington 6, 11 innings
Jose Ramirez and Gabriel Tatis got hit around a little bit, but the bullpen held the fort while the offense rallied. Ryan Acosta, Ryan Flannery and Francisco Rondon (the eventual winner) of perfect baseball while striking out seven. Jimmy Paredes and Rob Lyerly each had two RBIs in the win. Box score.
